Molding
The molding process at COS.PEL. exemplifies engineering and technological excellence, involving the transformation of thermoplastic polymers.
The entire molding process is supported by advanced technologies and strict quality controls. Each of the four phases is monitored and adjusted to ensure production parameters are optimized. This approach not only enhances efficiency but also guarantees that every finished product meets the technical and functional specifications required by the market.
The four phases of the molding process include:
- Drying
- Dosing
- Injection and holding
- Cooling
Molding at COS.PEL
Drying
The first stage of the process is drying, during which the polymer is dehumidified to remove any traces of moisture. This step is crucial for preventing defects in the final product, such as bubbles or streaks, ensuring optimal material performance during transformation.
Dosing
Next, the polymer transitions from solid to liquid through precise dosing, ensuring that the exact amount of material is injected into the mold. This process ensures an even distribution of material, which is essential for producing high-quality components.
Injection and holding
The liquid material is injected under pressure into the mold cavity. Here, it is compacted to take the precise shape of the mold, ensuring that every detail and technical characteristic of the design is met.
Cooling
The final stage of the process is cooling, followed by the extraction of the finished product. This task is performed by an anthropomorphic robot, which handles the product with precision and care, preventing any damage or deformation as it is released from the mold.
